HP enters footwear market with its 3D technology

HP is making a big push into 3D technology and the latest push has come out this week!

HP this week launched ​FitStation, an innovative hardware and software platform that captures 3D scans of the foot, foot pressure measurements and gait analysis to create a one-of-a-kind digital profile of each foot. HP actually deploys various 3D scanning technologies including laser, structured light and photogrammetry for its various 3D scanner products to cater for different applications.

It is the world's first end-to-end solution that provides individual off-the-shelf shoe and insole recommendations, 3D printed insoles and individualized custom footwear. The system will use HP Multi Jet Fusion printing technology to manufacture a 3D printed insole.

The FitStation platform is due to be piloted in a select number of Superfeet stores.
