Different market reports have slightly different growth forecasts, ranging from 7.8% to 15% CAGR between 2014 and 2023/2024 and this one is forecasting a higher growth rate of 15%. Global Market Insights forecasts that healthcare, architecture/engineering and entertainment/media markets for 3D scanning, in addition to traditional applications such as industrial manufacturing and aerospace & defense is poised to drive growth.

Interesting to note that one of our customers already using the HP Structured Light 3D scanner to create digital animation characters through scanning clay models (see the video here) rather than manually generating models, so digital animators can concentrate on art first and wrestle with technology second.
