HOW to 1: Trouble aligning scans
Turn off the texture of the object (at the top of the screen, there is a square button next to the button with an eyeball - see image to the right)
Make sure you are trying to align the shiny sides of both scans. See image below that shows the difference between shiny and non-shiny sides
Under the “Shape Fusion” tab look at the “Alignment” section. Make sure that the first dropdown menu says “Free”
Turn off texture by clicking square highlighted in the image above
You can also combine multiple scans into one scan to make alignment easier. Select desired scans and right click for the option to combine the scans. You can go back and uncombined them later if you wish.
At this point your scans should have aligned. With your two (or more) aligned scans change first drop down menu under “Alignment” to “Global Fine Registration” and click “Align scans”. Gradually increase Texture number (by 10-15) to get finer alignment. (see image to the right)
Note:- Scans may not always align more accurately with higher texture number. Use your best judgment.
HOW to 2: Color of object not appearing on screen
If the color of the object is not appearing accurately on the screen after being scanned, you should try adjusting the white balance.
● Scan and remove background
● Place the object to be scanned in front of the projector
● Click on the “Texturing” tab and select “Adjust White Balance”
● Proceed to scanning the object as you normally do
